DESIGN PROCESS FOR BABY NURSERY
Monday, February 08, 2016I don't know what it is about nurseries, but they are one of my favourite rooms to do. Maybe because you can do things you would not normally dare to do in other rooms? Not sure, but I remember when I found out I was having my son, one of the first things I had in order, before even choosing a stroller, was a mood board for his nursery. When I first start an interior project, I design like money is no object to get a general idea of layout and feel for the space. I then go back and find more affordable options and pick and choose where to save and where to splurge so that my dreamed up e-board designs can turn into reality.
I have been playing around with this mood board for a while and what you see is what will likely happen in the new baby nursery. The Rifle Paper co. Safari wallpaper made it in, and I think it's my favourite part of the room, so I have already gone ahead and made the order and can not wait to see it installed. Also the Pottery Barn chandelier has been ordered and is on it's way. Still deciding on the rest, but I'm pretty sure it will be very close to what you see here.
Get the look:
Rifle Paper Co. Safari Wallpaper // Numero 74 Canopy // Babyletto Crib // Pom Pom Throw // Seafoam Throw Pillow // Pink Woven Geo Pillow // Velvet Light Pink Pillow with Tassels // Dahlia Beaded Chandelier // Rattan Mirror // Horse Push Toy // Babyletto Dresser // Pale Seafoam Linen Drapes // Case Study Planter // African Woven Storage Baskets // Shug Rug // Rifle Paper In Bloom Book Collection // Rifle Paper Art Print // Moroccan Pouf // Monte Joya Rocker // Coral & Task Tree of Life Pillow // Natural Solid Wood Side Table // Rabbit Night Light
On another update, I also went ahead and purchased the Martha Stewart Closet System and ordered the Baby Elephant Walk Wallpaper for Sissy & Marley for inside the closet. Now just need to get it all installed.
The room is getting painted this weekend so wish me luck!
Katy.
